Purpose and Administration of the Award:
This

the Estero Design Review Committee (EDRC) to recognize an exceptional built
development of distinction within the Estero Planning Community area. The
David Graham Memorial Award for Excellence in Development has been created to
highlight those completed developments in the community that have raised the bar
in Estero and exemplify who David Graham was as a leader and developer (Read
the narrative on David Graham). The award will be given to one developer
per year, who has completed a project of exceptional merit in the Estero
community.
Application Process:
Nominations can be from anyone for any development located in the Estero
Community; however, the ECPP and EDRC will be active in the nominating process.
A cover letter with an application form attached will be sent to selected
developers. The letter will highlight the purpose of the award and the
principles that David Graham embodied when he worked with the Estero community.
Project submittals should be in the form of an application composed of the
following elements:
- A filled-out application form
- A one-page project narrative including the rationale for worthiness for
the award
- Additional information may be submitted outlining how the project met
the four criteria by which each project will be judged. It is not necessary
for a project to have met all four criteria to receive this award.

- Exceptional Planning (interconnectivity, pedestrian access,

Attachments may include photographs of the project to support the criteria
listed above, or any other information that may be applicable.

included, it should be on a folded 11” x 17” sheet.
Note that a large development may have one or more phases, and several
internal or outparcel projects that may be considered separately for the award.
Review Process:
A committee selected by the ECPP and EDRC will review the submittals and make
recommendations to the ECPP and EDRC for final decision. Each criterion
will be ranked. Total scores will be tabulated and one project will be
selected for the David Graham Memorial Award each calendar year.
Any submission that will be receiving an award will be notified and invited
to an awards presentation.
Note: no weight is given to the size or scope of the
project. All projects regardless of scale may be candidates for the award.
